Swedish lighting designer Sofie Gynning originally trained as a photographer and worked in film and stills on both commercial and creative projects for years before transitioning to lighting for the stage.
Gynning graduated the Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) with a degree in Lighting design in 2019 and is currently working in the nordic countries as well as the UK.
Gynning’s work is characterised by it’s sculptural qualities, a bold use of colour and a focus on storytelling, guiding narratives through light.
Productions include; Bernardas hus at Göteborgs Stadsteater, A study of losses with Kompani Giraff, Den goda människan i Sezuan at Östgöta Teatern, Askungen at Folkoperan and Like lovers do at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern.
